Papilio.bio

Papilio.bio is developing an at-home HPV self-test to prevent papillomavirus-related cancers.

Chiara Cespi Polisiani and Serena Petracchini, co-founders of Papilio.bio, a Femtech startup specializing in at-home HPV self-testing

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the leading cause of several cancers, including cervical cancer – yet largely preventable through early screening. However, millions of people are not getting screened, held back by practical, financial, or psychological barriers: waiting times, consultation costs, lack of information, or discomfort.

Papilio.bio addresses these health inequalities with an HPV self-test that is rapid and for home use, accompanied by an app that guides the user through result interpretation, medical follow-up, and access to educational content. A simple, accessible, and confidential solution – to finally make prevention everyone's business.

The next step

Papilio.bio is entering a pivotal phase: to close a funding round to finance the deployment of its solution and accelerate its market entry. A decisive milestone to transform a promising medical innovation into a widely accessible public health tool.
