Future of Industry

Tumbleweed

Tumbleweed is developing a logistics infrastructure to make microgravity accessible to industry and researchers.

Guillaume Brault, Leonhard Goliasch, and Julian Rothenbuchner, co-founders of Tumbleweed, a startup specializing in space logistics and microgravity access

Microgravity opens up extraordinary possibilities : more effective cancer treatments, semiconductors and fiber optics up to ten times more efficient, and many other applications. But for decades, access to space has remained limited to a select few — hindered by decades-old certification processes, prohibitive costs, and timelines incompatible with industrial realities. Tumbleweed is tackling this barrier by developing shipping containers standardized and pre-certified, that allow payloads to be sent into space at a cost ten times lower and five times faster. Space, finally within reach.

The next step

Tumbleweed is experiencing a remarkable period of acceleration remarkable : with a first flight scheduled for July, a second mission already fully booked, a team that now exceeds thirty people, and the transition from a garage workshop to a full-fledged factory. The startup is no longer just making promises - it delivers.

Why 21st by CentraleSupélec?

Based in Austria and the Netherlands, Tumbleweed aims to establish its presence in the French market - a strategic ecosystem for New Space. 21st by CentraleSupélec opens doors for them: contacts with potential clients and investors in France, and access to top universities to fuel recruitment in full growth.
