Deeptech startups do not develop like digital startups. Long cycles, intensive funding, complex industrialization: their growth dynamics are still poorly understood — and therefore poorly supported.
Based on over 5 years of supporting more than 100 deeptech startups through the 21st by CentraleSupélec accelerator, the Deeptech Dynamics observatory aims to change that.
Deeptech Dynamics produces rigorous analyses on the growth trajectories of deeptech startups: how they are structured, at what pace they evolve, and which strategic choices make a difference.
Its publications are aimed at entrepreneurs, investors, accelerators, and public policymakers who support the transformation of scientific research into industrial enterprises.

This inaugural edition analyzes the growth trajectories of over 240 French deeptech startups, based on investment data, development indicators, and in-depth sectoral analysis.
At the heart of the study: the Deeptech Quadrant, a new analytical framework that identifies four distinct growth regimes within the deeptech ecosystem.
Rather than a single model for success, deeptech startups follow differentiated paths — depending on the maturity of their technology and the scale of the market they aim to transform. These contrasting approaches, ranging from technological specialization to building complete industrial systems, are central to the analysis.
The study specifically answers these questions:
