Paris, September 16, 2024 – Jointly launched by CentraleSupélec, ESSEC Business School and the competitiveness cluster Systematic Paris-Région, this new continuing education program dedicated to deeptech entrepreneurship has been awarded funding from the Engineering and Vocational Training (IFP) call for projects, financed by the State and the Ile-de-France Region, as part of the regionalized component of France 2030, operated on behalf of the State and the Region by La Banque des Territoires.
With two certifying courses, one for researchers and PhD students, and the other for entrepreneurs and managers, this new program aims to accelerate the emergence of deeptech startups and breakthrough innovations, addressing major environmental and societal challenges.
CentraleSupélec, ESSEC, and Systematic Paris-Région leverage their complementary strengths and unique network in France to train a new generation of Greentech, Healthtech, Biotech, AI, and quantum entrepreneurs. The first sessions are scheduled for spring 2025.
With a goal of 300 deeptech startups created within 5 years, Deeptech+ will significantly support business and job creation in the advanced industries sector.
The ambition of the three partners is to train future deeptech leaders by supporting 500 researchers and 350 entrepreneurs or managers over the next 5 years, aiming to create 300 companies and 3,500 net highly skilled jobs in the advanced industries sector.

Two continuing education programs to support the creation of deeptech startups
Deeptech+ aims to support the development of advanced technologies and breakthrough innovations applied to Greentech, Healthtech, Biotech, as well as projects stemming from AI and Quantum, thereby contributing to the technological independence of France and Europe.
To achieve this, CentraleSupélec, ESSEC, and Systematic Paris-Region have designed and developed two certified continuing education programs to help individuals develop their skills and acquire the necessary resources for launching a high-tech startup.
● "LABS" is a 2 to 5-day program designed for research faculty and PhD students. It will provide training in technology maturation, transfer, and business creation, offering key insights for building a business project around a breakthrough technology;
● "FORERUNNERS" is a hybrid program combining online courses, two intensive in-person modules, and project and leadership coaching, equivalent to approximately 25 days over 6 months. This program is designed for entrepreneurs and managers, enabling them to acquire the necessary skills and resources, expand their network, and accelerate the development of a deeptech startup.
Both training programs will combine in-person sessions and online masterclasses, led by faculty, experts, or successful deeptech entrepreneurs from the CentraleSupélec-ESSEC community (e.g., SiPearl, Exotrail, Innovafeed). A dedicated and shared digital platform will allow each participant to utilize these digital resources at their own pace and asynchronously, according to their organizational constraints.
Participants will benefit from individual coaching sessions provided by experts from the three partners' ecosystems and will be able to immerse themselves in the French deeptech community by attending events bringing together key sector players, such as SoDeepTech organized by Pôle Systematic. The cluster will also provide access to some of its services or facilitate their involvement in collaborative R&D projects initiated by its members.
Finally, Deeptech+ will build a community of "deeptech leaders" to strengthen ties between companies, project initiators, and job seekers, and to facilitate the search for partners for project development.

"Deeptech+ will enable entrepreneurs and researchers to transform high-potential, cutting-edge technology into a viable business capable of addressing the major environmental and societal challenges we face," states Romain Soubeyran, CEO of CentraleSupélec.
"In a rapidly changing world, we must foster new innovation players and contribute to France's technological independence. With over 400 startups created within 5 years, Deeptech+ is positioned as a key player in making this ambition a reality," comments Vincenzo Vinzi, CEO of ESSEC Business School.
"With Deeptech+, we are equipping ourselves with new tools to support and foster the projects and growth of innovative French high-tech companies that champion the idea of a responsible and sovereign society by integrating the challenges of digital, energy, and climate transitions," adds Jean-Luc Beylat, President of Systematic Paris-Region.
