Four years after its creation, Morpho joins the exclusive club of French unicorns. Co-founded by Merlin Egalité, who went through the CentraleSupélec Entrepreneurs program led by Eric Langrognet, the startup has established itself as a key player in decentralized finance in Europe and beyond.

A new major milestone for CentraleSupélec's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Morpho, a French startup co-founded by Merlin Egalité, has just crossed the symbolic threshold of a billion-dollar valuation. With this announcement, officially made at the Ministry of Finance, Morpho becomes the 11th unicorn co-founded by a CentraleSupélec alumnus, and the first French DeFi unicorn recognized by public authorities.

Founded in 2021, Morpho is a decentralized financial infrastructure that reinvents the lending and borrowing of digital assets. The protocol eliminates traditional intermediaries by directly connecting lenders and borrowers globally on the blockchain. In just a few years, the company has established itself as one of the major European players in decentralized finance, with several billion dollars in deposits on its platform and leading institutional partnerships, including Coinbase, Société Générale, and Apollo Global Management.

Before co-founding Morpho, Merlin Egalité completed the CentraleSupélec Entrepreneurs program, class of 2022-2023, led by Eric Langrognet. This program, dedicated to project leaders graduating from their studies, aims to support future entrepreneurs in structuring and launching their startups.

With Morpho, an 11th unicorn now joins the map of companies co-founded by CentraleSupélec alumni, confirming the School's and its entrepreneurial ecosystem's ability to foster the emergence of international technological champions.

Congratulations to Merlin Egalité and the entire Morpho team for this key milestone. Thanks also to Eric Langrognet for his role in identifying and supporting these talents within the program.
