PRONOE secures the Ocean Innovation Prize – and a $15,000 prize – at the MIT Climate & Energy Prize, for the VERY FIRST edition, open to European student projects.
PRONOE is working on atmospheric carbon removal through ocean alkalinization. The startup – which joined our incubator last January – restores the natural capacity of surface waters to permanently capture and store atmospheric CO2 while locally mitigating surface water acidification.
To achieve this, it develops industrial systems that produce and controllably disperse an alkaline flow from coastal industrial effluents.
