Regenerative medicine is booming and shows great promise for treating a large number of diseases, including cancer. However, the BioPharma industry is currently facing a fundamental challenge.
Specifically, large-scale cell culture is a bottleneck in making these new therapies (known as cell or gene therapies) accessible and affordable.
To address this, Amélie Quilichini and Gabriel Dumy founded Kolibri and developed a next-generation cell culture platform for their partners specializing in drug discovery and development.
Their method combines cutting-edge techniques in acoustics and biology. This allows for a 100-fold increase in yield while reducing production costs by up to 50 times, thereby unlocking patient access to these therapies.
