Revolty, the sustainable solution for storing household solar energy
Solar is the energy of tomorrow. Al Gore reiterated this at the Davos forum in January, emphasizing its indispensable role at the heart of our energy future (Source).
Today, 830,000 French households have installed solar panels on their roofs (Source). By 2030, this number will exceed 3 million according to RTE (Source). However, these homeowners lose over 60% of their production due to their inability to consume it during the day when it's generated. This loss is exacerbated by the drastic drop in EDF's buyback rates, which, since February 2025, only offer a paltry price of 4c€/kWh for injecting this energy into the grid (Source 1 / Source 2). A real paradigm shift for these households installing solar panels with the goal of reducing their energy bills.
Revolty allows them to store this surplus energy to consume it when they truly need it. In a market dominated by imported and standardized Asian batteries, the startup stands out by developing the first French, eco-responsible residential battery. Its unique feature: by focusing on the reuse of European lithium batteries, Revolty leverages a local industrial resource to create a low-carbon storage solution. This innovative solution allows households to double their electricity bill savings while securing their energy independence. This circular approach avoids the extraction of tons of minerals, preserves millions of liters of water, and drastically reduces CO2 emissions compared to a new battery (Source).
“Revolty reconciles ecological urgency and industrial sovereignty. Transforming our used batteries into pillars of home storage is an ambitious and necessary approach: it's the missing piece to finally make energy autonomy possible for everyone.”
Damien Papon (CEO of Soli Energie)

The spark behind Revolty: reinventing energy storage
Mathilde and Valentin, Revolty's co-founders, met during the X-HEC Entrepreneurs master's program. These two energy enthusiasts share a common vision: to transform French residential solar by tackling resource waste.
“At Revolty, we believe that the lithium and other critical raw materials needed for our batteries are not in mines on the other side of the world. They are already around us, and it's time to use them.”
Mathilde, CEO
After graduating, Mathilde and Valentin founded Revolty in the summer of 2024. The young startup benefited from the outset from the support of the CentraleSupélec and HEC ecosystems at Station F.
Solar installers, who recommend their solution, are already showing interest in this innovation. Within a year, Revolty secured €2M in orders from twenty installers. They have also deployed 3 prototype systems in real-world conditions, in private homes.
“We founded Revolty with the aim of helping installers stand out and offer beneficial, competitive solutions that enable households to maximize their savings..”
Valentin, President

A Bright Future: Driving Energy Self-Sufficiency for European Households by 2030
Currently hosted at Agoranov in Paris, the greentech can now count on the support of renowned energy investors, alongside Hexa Sprint, Hexa's climate-focused acceleration program, 50Partners Impact, and business angels such as Benoit Lemaignan (Verkor), Julien Belliato (Electra), the co-founders of Murfy, and executives from EDF and Total Energies.
Thanks to this €1 million funding round, Revolty will be able to certify and launch its first battery in 2026, before equipping hundreds of households with it starting in 2027.
Revolty's ambition is to become the benchmark for low-carbon solar storage in Europe and to avoid 30,000 annual tons of CO2 by 2030 (Source). By making every household self-sufficient through this circular model, the startup transforms the energy transition into a tangible reality: local, accessible, and without compromising resources. By joining Hexa's Carbon Zero program, Revolty benefits from leading support and resources to revolutionize residential solar storage.
“What convinced us about Revolty is their ability to address a massive market with a solution that is ecological, competitive, and immediately deployable. By combining solar storage, industrial circularity, and very attractive pricing, the team is tackling a key barrier to residential energy transition with a pragmatic and scalable approach.”
