Ganymed Robotics raises 21 million euros to complete the development of its next-generation surgical robot

Founded by Sophie Cahen (CentraleSupélec alumna), Ganymed Robotics, which develops computer vision software and robotic technologies for orthopedic surgeons, announced this Thursday, July 7, that it has raised 21 million euros in a first round of Series B funding.

This funding round was led by Cathay Health, joined by Credit Mutuel Innovation, Kurma Partners, and BNP Paribas Développement Mutuel Innovation, Kurma Partners, and BNP Paribas Développement.

The funds will be used to:

- Support Ganymed Robotics' expansion in France and the United States;

- Finalize the industrial development of its robotic surgical assistant for total knee arthroplasty (TKA);

- Accelerate regulatory and marketing developments across all geographies;

- Diversify the innovation product pipeline.

Since its creation in 2018, Ganymed Robotics has experienced rapid growth. 

In collaboration with world-class clinicians, it has validated the relevance of its algorithms and collected unique in vivo data through a 100-patient observational study. 

Ganymed Robotics has also successfully conducted functional prototype tests, industrialized its first device dedicated to TKAs through strategic partnerships with manufacturers, and secured a strong patent portfolio.
