Rata Jacquemart, co-founder of Differs: "Our goal is to enable retailers to remain profitable in an environment where consumer behavior is rapidly evolving."

What problem are you addressing?

The primary problem we're looking to solve concerns recent inflation, which has led to significant price changes. Consumers are losing purchasing power, which has caused major shifts in behavior and a very strong need for 30% of French consumers to take advantage of promotions*.

Similarly, 52% of consumers are now willing to switch brands if promotions aren't tailored. The retail sector therefore faces a significant challenge: rapidly adapting to these market changes, or risk disappearing.

What's your solution?

We offer an artificial intelligence solution that adjusts markdowns to maintain a loyal customer base. This involves finding the right balance between low prices to attract high volumes of customers, without sacrificing profit margins.

The AI determines the best markdown for each product by considering customer sensitivity to promotions and predicting potential sales volume.

What impact do you aim to create?

Our goal is to enable retailers to remain profitable in an environment where consumer behavior is rapidly evolving. Through a solution that predicts customer behavior and adjusts prices accordingly, Differs helps retailers adapt to these changes.

This approach allows them to increase revenue, improve profit margins, and simultaneously reduce waste by preventing spoilage of perishable products. It's a win-win.

What market does this represent?

Our solution primarily targets retailers with annual revenues between $10 million and $100 million. Although the market is global, we are currently focusing on Europe.

Your next goal?

We recently launched our V1 and are currently in a testing phase with five retailers across different sectors: fashion, cosmetics, food, and toys. The results are very encouraging.

For example, we saw a 17% increase in volume and a 9% increase in revenue for a UK dairy brand, Collective, as well as a 30% increase in volume and a 4% increase in revenue for a zero-waste cosmetics brand, Lamazuna.

Our next step is to make our solution even more user-friendly and integrable with Shopify, while reducing implementation time for our clients. Our goal is to democratize Data Science so that even retailers without Data Scientists can compete with giants like Amazon.
