Climate & Biodiversity 2026: welcome to the six start-ups of the new cohort

CO₂ transformed into bioplastic, fertilizer produced from air and water, parking lots converted into solar power plants: this isn't science fiction, but the daily reality for the six startups in the new Climate & Biodiversity cohort. Jointly supported by 21st by CentraleSupélec and AgroParisTech, this cohort officially launched its support program on Thursday, September 17, during an onboarding day held at the Ferme de Grignon.

A day to launch the program

As the first step of the program, the onboarding day aimed to allow the entrepreneurs to get to know one another, discover the ecosystem and resources available to them, and engage with the key partners of the Climate & Biodiversity vertical.

The teams from 21st by CentraleSupélec and AgroParisTech presented the acceleration program, the mentor network, potential scientific collaborations, and the roadmap for the coming months. The startups notably benefit from access to over 40 research laboratories covering key themes such as energy, living organisms, food, agriculture, biodiversity, climate, forestry, and soil.

Discovering AgroParisTech's experimental farm

The day also provided an opportunity to tour AgroParisTech's experimental farm. This visit allowed the entrepreneurs to better understand the experimentation, research, and collaboration opportunities available to the cohort's startups—a major asset for testing and validating innovations in real-world conditions.

Partners engaged from the start

Several partners of the vertical spoke to present the resources available throughout the program:

  • Thomas Beaugendre (Demea) led a masterclass on fundraising;
  • Pauliver Bouvier (Bloomr) presented the funding mechanisms accessible at each stage of a deeptech startup's lifecycle;
  • Manon Marioli and Martin Hirschauer (BPRI) detailed the mechanisms, expertise, and resources available to the startups.

Six startups serving major transitions

The Climate & Biodiversity 2026 cohort brings together six startups addressing the challenges of food, agricultural, environmental, and energy transitions.

Valorizing CO₂

Another World Bioscience develops genetically modified microalgae capable of sequestering CO₂. Using a biofoundry that combines synthetic biology, automation, and artificial intelligence, the startup produces biodegradable bioplastics (PHA), primarily for the packaging market.
Founders: Victor Kreis (CEO), Stéphane Lemaire (CTO), and Pierre Crozet (CSO).

Epiqor (formerly Cycles) is developing technology that transforms unutilized CO₂ from anaerobic digesters into green methane. By using industrial waste to produce hydrogen, it significantly increases the output and profitability of these facilities.
Founders: Victor Mora (CEO) and Edmond Baratte (CTO).

Transforming agriculture

Synanthra is developing a bio-electrochemical technology that produces nitrogen fertilizer locally using air, water, and renewable electricity. Its goal: to replace fossil-fuel-based fertilizers produced via the Haber-Bosch process.
Founders: Cameron Fyfe (CEO) and Héloïse Coutelier (CSO).

Cybeletech uses mathematical modeling of plant life to predict, optimize, and manage every crop, plot by plot, from sowing to harvest.
Founders: Christophe Shaw (CEO) and Nicolas Steinmetz (CTO).

Accelerating the solar transition

SUUN addresses a growing need: the APER law mandates the solarization of tens of thousands of parking lots in France by 2028, yet the current solar canopy market still relies on heavy, expensive, and slow-to-install metal structures. The start-up is reinventing the photovoltaic canopy as a true infrastructure project, using ultra-high-performance fiber-reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) pillars and patented tension cables that allow for spans of up to 30 meters. The result: fewer foundations, construction times cut in half, a structure cheaper than traditional steel framing, and up to a 70% reduction in carbon footprint.
Founders: Clément Houllier (CEO) and Nina Velly (CFO).

Zilo Energie offers a solar subscription based on a performance-guaranteed service. The start-up provides local solar kWh at a guaranteed price and optimizes its clients' self-consumption.
Founders: Chloé Roubach, Philippine Roy, and Florian Guinet (COO).

Support at the intersection of science and business

By combining scientific and technical excellence, field experimentation, and business acceleration, the partnership between 21st by CentraleSupélec and AgroParisTech provides the cohort's start-ups with a unique framework to develop and deploy their solutions.
