Eco-GPUR's goal? To purify biogas through gas-liquid absorption. Founder Julien Lemaire is developing a process that will combine hollow fiber membrane contactors for improved gas transfer, brine to enhance performance, and a system to adjust pH before and after CO2 absorption. Its advantages are numerous: better performance, compactness, ease of implementation, modularity (simplified sizing), energy efficiency, and the absence of problematic solvents or chemicals. The technology primarily targets agricultural operators, aiming to meet the need for cheaper and more efficient purification technologies, particularly in the agricultural methanization sector.
What is the current status of his project?
- 2 patents filed in 2017 and 2020
- Achieve the demonstration (TRL 7) of the patented biogas purification process and validate its performance in terms of efficiency, energy consumption, and CAPEX.
